Montreal 1952, teenager Samuel brings his friend Julien to the neighbourhood steam bath for his weekly routine with Dad. Julien’s first time will be a day to remember.

About a salaryman who is about to be retrenched and to make things worse, his family walks out on him. He is given a chance to reverse his fortune when he is sent to help a struggling ballet company financed by his company so that their year-end performance "Swan Lake" can be a success despite knowing nothing about ballet.

From barges and paddle boats to steam trains and traction engines, the trio use a wide range of steam machines to make their way up the country, and learn about the history and engineering genius of the machines they are travelling on along the way.

Comedian Cedric the Entertainer uses his considerable appeal to introduce some up-and-coming young stand-up comedians. Cedric himself takes on topics such as Bill Clinton, the death penalty, reality television, fast-food chicken, church etiquette, and much more. The other comedians are a mixed lot: Roland Powell amusingly mocks insecure boyfriends and sings a singles bar pick-up song and Juan Villareal gets some laughs out of food stamps and The Blair Witch Project, while Tony Luewellyn flounders through weak material about Ex-Lax and the war on terror. Then along comes J.J., who gives a surreal spin to roadkill and giving birth to septuplets.
